Drinking makes you sick...

...but in that case, it could have been water, the results would have been the same! A friend of mine in Koh Phi Phi with us for new year had been sadely sick from day 2. Thus after the huge blast we had on the eve. We all thought that the sickness was due to high absorption of alcholic substances but it wasnt!! Or at least not directly. Apparently, when he went to bed (passed out on the bed would be more appropriate) after the party, he misplaced his contact lens in their container (that is to say, upside down). So for the next following 4 days, he was basically wearing his contacts upside down! Ouch! Hence the headache and associated motion sickness... This just made my day !

[via] Over at Cryptomundo, Loren Coleman comments on the first purported eyewitness sketch of the Malaysian "Bigfoot" that has been the subject of a media "monster flap" in recent weeks. This illustration comes from an article today in the New Straits Times, titled "Closing in on Bigfoot, foreign media set to descend on Johor." About this sketch, Loren writes: The sketch appears to illustrate the more distinctive Malaysian unknown hairy hominid, which technically is a more humanlike cryptid, and very different that the classic, stocky Pacific Northwest USA’s Bigfoot or Sasquatch. I have previously discussed in my and Patrick Huyghe’s field guide, as has Mark A. Hall in his books, how the Malaysian unknown hairy hominoid reports divide into two quite separate types: those of the True Giant and the accounts of the more humanoid, Erectus Hominid variety. This drawing, if it actually does originate from eyewitness sightings in Malaysia - and there’s no guarantee that this is the case - clearly shows one of the latter. If this is an image that we are to definitely now associate with the new wave of Malaysian encounters, it does reinforce the diversity of unknown hairy hominoids, and adds weight to calling this something other than "Bigfoot."

New Year Eve in Koh PhiPhi

Well, in order to be polite, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. Alright this is done. Yeah. No more. I ll write up the usual greetings for the new year a bit later. Not in the mood right now. Anyway, this post is about how we rocked our organisms in the island called Koh PhiPhi. Yes, indeed we did rocked our bloody organism to the bottom! Lets be structered and start from the beginning. Day1: Saturday 31st: Take the plane at 11am to land around 12 in Phuket. Taxi. Boat. Island at 4. Did i mentionned that on top of Nath, there were 8 other maniacs on this trip. Total being 10. You remember when you were young, and going to summer camp with all your little friends? 10 of us (in the same plane/cab/boat/hotel) is much worse, Im telling you. So, arrival at the island. Bag drop at the hotel. Quick bite (Thai Cheese Burger in order to prepare the stomach for the excess) and Go for bar, apero, bar, gala dinner and bar again. All that on a beach with the feet in the water at all times. Yeah. View from (almost) the hotel... I am due to mention that we had a not too bad gala dinner (classic Asian food with not much variation and pretty expensive), but the big moment of this donner is when the MC of the dinner organised a egg-breaking contest. You are going to say, no another-egg-breaking contest, but the sole goal of this one was to ridiculize the contestants (namely Jerome C and Ahmed). Indeed, try to break an egg attached to your belt (roughly at the level of your crotch) with a cucumber also attached at crocth level (not the same one though!). Bloody hilarious! ( i will try to upload the video very soon) As for the countdown, imagine yourself dancing like a maniac on top of the art sounds, crazy people all around, dancing the same way you do, and suddenly, coming from the same blasting PA 5..4..3..2..1.. BANG fireworks everywhere all over the beach... everyone bathing in the warm water.... ouch that was hell of a great experience! The rest of the night was just getting friendlier and friendlier with everyone, getting friendlier and friendlier with the bottle and getting wetter and wetter from the ocean.... Yeah! Did I mentionned that we meet some VIE from HongKong, that apparently went there because one of us (me?) dropped them a live on some obscur forum on the net. Yeah again, and big up for them! 1- Hong Kong Buddies in full action 2- The whole beach fully packed with drunk meat DAY 2: The next day, we have one dead man in the team, Mr JC due extensive liquid absorption and kick in the face (when trying to drop some drunkman on the water!). 9 it is for this day. Day is a bit of an overestmation when it starts at 2pm by ordering as much fat food as possible, and ending at 4pm at a beach side bar ordering cocktails til 1am! To our discharge, they were really cheap and extremely good! Day Done! Cocktail Bar aka PARADISE DAY 3: For our last day in the island, we decided to rent a boat in order to go to the PhiPhi Ley island, small piece of rock located in front of koh phi-phi. After avoiding the massive boats full of tourist (mainly Northerner and fat germans with bears and beers), we found ourselves a small creek (full of translucent water and whiter than white sand. Yeah! Spen as much time as possible over there, and as before, went back to eat, and went back to the same old bar by the beach as last day but this time around seven. til the end of the night.... Burps ! < 1- Blue! 2- Yeah! To put it in a nuttshell, NYE in Koh Phi Phi was hellish. ! Trip to Indonesian Embassy

I have a big project to attend to in Indonesia at the start of January 2006. I m also due to go back a few times for other business matter. Having said that, i thus needed to obtain my multi-entry visa instead of paying 25 USD each time and being forbiddent to work there. Anyway, i went to the embassy with two collegues of mine who are in the same situation as me. The forst thing we saw arriving there was the huge amount of ppl in front of the embassy. After a few minutes of bewilderment, had been explained that those ppl were indonesiantrying to obtain the Malaysian working permit. Man, the entire Indonesia is trying to become Malaysian! After being directed to the right counter and after filling up a form longer than a Dan Brown book (i had being proactive, i hadnt forgotten my ID pics), and after waiting 15 minutes while fiercely defending my position in the queue (man that was the hardest part!) i finally faced the guardian of my visa. 2 sec passed by. Where is the copy of your passport? Hey what the heck im leaving you my passprt for you to stick the visa on it why on earth will you need a copy? No argument there, i just went down in the courtyard, ask a guard and he directed me to the parking next door. Parking huh ? Yes because parking in Malaysia are also copy center as well ID pics maker. Especially when they are located near a embassy. Copy center is a big word for a antic xerox machine (40 years old according to the machineman) in the sun of the parking. Same for the ID pic guy. Hilarious. And of course, all around that, you have water seller, food stalls and taxi station A mini-city within a parking! After having satisfy the guardian with copies, counter-copies and authenticated copies, i was told that my passport with my new visa would be ready by Friday. Cool, i m off to Thailand on Saturday Morning ! YEah ! I have to admit that the process was more funny than painful. Less than one hour to do everything, well, this has to be the most efficient Visa service within Southeast Asia ! Inodnesia Rocks ! Technorati Tags: Indonesia, trip

Malaysia 'addicted' to herb food

By Jonathan Kent BBC, Kuala Lumpur A Malaysian MP has accused the country's Indian Muslim restaurateurs of lacing their food with habit-forming herbs. Mohamad Said Yusof told parliament patrons of what are known as Mamak restaurants had been fooled into thinking the food was simply tasty. But in reality they had become addicts, he said. Earlier this year Malaysia announced plans to send its most popular Indian Muslim dishes into orbit. Most saw it as a patriotic if eccentric gesture. Now, though, some suspect that it may truly be space food. Opium injection Mr Mohamad, an MP in Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi's party, says the food is laced with opium poppy seeds - known as kas kas in Malay, and used legally by chefs around the world. He told parliament that it had become the norm for young Malaysians to hang out in Mamak restaurants into the small hours of the morning. He believes they and many others have become addicted to the food and he called for kas kas to be banned. However, Mr Mohamad stopped short of demanding that offending restaurant owners be locked up under Malaysia's Internal Security Act. That is normally the first cry of any government supporter who spots even the smallest potential threat to national security. The controversial law allows suspects to be locked away indefinitely without charge or trial. And in Malaysia, most would agree that few things threaten the country's well-being as much as tampering with its favourite food.

How to drink vodka and stay sober

Following the recent and future event, here is an intersting guide (found here) Russians are renowned for drinking a lot of vodka staying sober. That’s not something to do with biological inheritance but with the way we drink. Russians believe that foreigners don’t know how to drink. They don’t eat while drinking. They mix cocktails. They sip vodka instead of taking shots. They drink vodka with highly carbonated sodas. In short, they do everything to get drunk from the minimum amount of alcohol. May be it has something to do with innate Western avidity or expensiveness of alcohol. Russians, on the other hand, do everything to stay sober while drinking as much alcohol as possible. How do we do it? We try to neutralize alcohol as long as possible. I try to outline the basic principles of vodka drinking for uninitiated. One hour before the party. 1. Eat a couple of boiled potatoes. 2. Drinks one or two raw eggs. 3. Drink one or two table-spoons of olive oil. Sunflower oil will also do. Thus it’s guaranteed that at the Russian party you will stay sober for at least one bottle of vodka. I’m not kidding. Raw eggs are the most important part of Russian pre-party preparations. At the party. 1. If you start drinking vodka – drink only vodka. No beer or wine. No water or juice. Carbonated drinks are taboo. 2. Drink vodka only in shots. Never sip. 3. Eat immediately after taking a shot. Russian zakuskis are often translated as appetizers. That’s not quite correct. Zakuskis are something you ‘zakusyvayesh’ with after taking a shot of vodka. They are very important to neutralize alcohol. That’s why they all contain two most important alcohol neutralizers – acid and salt. I recommend taking the following sequence: - immediately after taking a shot – two slices of lemon; - then some salted cucumbers, pickles, marinated tomatoes or caviar. - then something with a lot of oil: herring (traditionally with cold boiled potatoes and onion), sardines, or shproty (small smoked sprats in olive oil); - then traditional Russian salads, like Oliviye or Herring with boiled beet and mayonnaise. Almost all Russian salads come under heavy mayonnaise dressing. Remember – acid, salt, eggs and oil. Ukrainians and Southern Russians prefer smoked lard with garlic but it’s a zakuska for professionals. 4. Only three first vodka shots at a Russian party are ‘obligatory’ so to say. That means you have to take them if you want to show you’re a friendly person but not an unsociable person. After that you can ‘miss’ one or two shots. Just say, “Ya propuskayu” (Literally, I make it slip) and cover your glass with your palm. That doesn’t mean you can abstain from drinking till the end of the party. It means (excusing yourself that you’re a foreigner) can take one shot out of two your Russian guests take. I think, some Russian party traditions need to be explained here. In Russia we party around a big table with bottles and zakuskis. We drink only when someone makes a toast and we drink all together. The person who makes a toast usually pours vodka to all glasses. Taking a bottle yourself and drinking vodka without others is a faux pas. Actually you (and all others) are ordered to drink after a toast. Everyone at the party is supposed to make a toast – being a foreigner is not an excuse. So be prepared – buy yourself a book on party toasts (there are a lot of them on sale in Russia) and learn some by heart. 5. Zakuskis part of the party take about an hour – or something like 200 grams (4 shots) of vodka. Then comes “goryacheye” (hot dishes). Even though zakuskis could be very filling – you should eat goryacheye if you want not be become drunk. 6. Actively participate in intellectual talks around the table. Mental activity is probably the best method to keep you excited but sober. Try, for example, to drink two pints of beer while reading a philosophical book and see the result. 7. At the end of the party come tea and cakes. Don’t miss it too. This way you show your hosts that you’re survived the party without dire consequences. Now in the course of 4 or 5 hours you drunk a bottle of vodka (500 grams) and you’re only slightly tight. After the party. 1. Keep a small bottle of beer in refrigerator. Wake up at about 5 in the morning, drink your beer and go back to bed. It prevents hang-over in the morning. 2. If the early morning beer didn’t help (it usually does), drink a glass of brine from the jar you kept you pickles in. Many Russians recommend taking a shot of vodka in the morning to fights hang-over. Don’t do it. It helps only alcoholics. If you’re not, it will make things worse.

Having 15 people at home when designed for 2, it is another story. The main part of this challenge is to catter all this people for a good sitting. So at 10am this morning, we ahd to move on bed and transform it into a couch (easy part, feathr weighted) and to bring up a table for a neighbor (9th floor - i live on the 21st) which weight approximately a zillion tons and some grams. Now my arms are aching.....Stupid ass !

Craigslist ad purported to be from two female gamers who would do anything to get the next-gen console. How far would you go to get an Xbox 360? Well, if one Craigslist.org ad were to be believed, two Boston-area women would do just about anything to get their hands on the next-gen console. Under the headline "trade sex for an xbox 360," a person claiming to be a 22-year-old woman said "Me and my roommate are totally hard core gamers, but our desperate (sic) attempts to get an Xbox 360 have gotten us nothing so far." The poster told responders to "send me a photo of you holding the system, and tell me what I have to do to get it." She did not mention any particular lewd acts but said her roommate was also willing to join in, despite being "really shy." This makes for an interesting argument when both parties are SMART. comment: well, i won the pub quizz yesterday, so no need for a proof here. Level completed Stage 2 GOOD LOOKING This is when you realise that you are the BEST LOOKING person in the entire bar and that people fancy you. You can go up to a perfect stranger knowing they fancy you and really want to talk to you. Bear in mind that you are still SMART, so you can talk to this person about any subject under the sun. comment: i do have one of the most beautiful girlfriend in the world. Im full time here! Level completed Stage 3 RICH This is when you suddenly become the richest person in the world. You can buy drinks for the entire bar because you have an armoured truck full of money parked behind the bar. You can also make bets at this stage, because of course, you are still SMART, so naturally you win all your bets. It doesn't matter how much you bet 'cos you are RICH. You will also buy drinks for everyone that you fancy, because now you are the BEST LOOKING person in the world. comment: The bar gave us free voucher of drink, inclusive of shots, and bottles. They only do that to rich people right? Level completed Stage 4 BULLET PROOF You are now ready to pick fights with anyone and everyone especially those with whom you have been betting or arguing. This is because nothing can hurt you. At this point you can also go up to the partners of the people who you fancy and challenge to a battle of wits or money. You have no fear of losing this battle because you are SMART, you are RICH and hell, you're BETTER LOOKING than they are anyway! comment: I woke up with a terrible headache and the impression that someone punched me really hard in the stomach this morning. Hell, i must have been involved in a fight, and yes im alive so the other should be dead right? Level completed Stage 5 INVISIBLE This is the Final Stage of Drunkness. At this point you can do anything because NO ONE CAN SEE YOU. You dance on a table to impress the people who you fancy because the rest of the people in the room cannot see you. You are also invisible to the person who wants to fight you. You can walk through the street singing at the top of your lungs because no one can see or hear you and because you're still SMART you know all the words. comment: I open my back this morning, and i had ashtrays, bottles, coasters, ice pinch and so one. No one saw me took those (that i remember!), so INVISIBLE i was! Level completed - Game over!

Yesterday night (Saturday), farewell of my boss. YEp, the guy is leaving for good. Well, he is just going back to France with a new assignement, but he wont be my boss anymore. So big up for him, for his guidance and help. Most of the thing i know of my job are from him. Hay hay!! He did big yesterday with Goose Liver, Saint Emilion, Pomerol, Champagne, Citrus-Marinated Salmon, French cheese, Chocolate cheese cake, souffles au Roquefort, Vodka, Whisky, Chablis, Gewurtstraminer... and all that in very good quantities !!!!! I believe it was the closest i will get for a real french XMAS dinner.... Thanks for that too ! Were present, Pierre & Christelle, Christophe & Nicole, Vincent & Stephanie (got a doubt here) amd there little tiny Paul, Bernard, Sandrine, Jerome, Agnes and Myself. Good laugh, and home at 2 with far too much good stuff in my belly ! Burps !

As mentionned in one of my previous post, it was open bar Johnny Pedjalan (Walker in Malay! - that is the way you say it !). Too be truly exact, it was not a real open bar, but we you arrived at the location we were given a set of token, which symbolise a drink at the bar. To make short, we managed to get enough token (dont ask how, it is too complicated) to satisfy our pure thirst of Pedjalan. Well it was an overall fun night eventhough at midnight i gave it up. I dont know, i was not in the mood for a big night out. Weird huh? Amyway bigup for Nico, David, Puva, Herve (!), Ajay, Jerome and many more who joined afterwards.

The package is excellent, and imagine that in the US, they sold as many discs as Nirvana! - Latest album from "30 secondes from Mars" (A beautiful Lie). Great stuff. Well for those who loves califirnian rock *not even sure they are fom california though!* - Latest album from The Strokes (First Impressions on Earth) !!! Yeah premium exclusivity, i might admit that thie one arrived via the net. [via Marcus Riperus - here] MALE animals can produce a lot of sperm or grow big brains but cannot do both, according to a study that may confirm the suspicions of many women. The study of 334 bat species suggests that energy-hungry brains can evolve only at the expense of other tissues. Writing in Proceedings of the Royal Society, Biological Sciences, Scott Pitnick, of Syracuse University, New York, reported that species with promiscuous females had evolved extra large testicles but smaller brains. "The general rule that is emerging is that sperm production can be incredibly costly," said Dr Pitnick, who first found the relationship in insects. Male fruit flies, for example, can make sperm 7.5 centimetres long. "This led me to examine bats, as sperm competition is rife, and so testes can be ridiculously large," he said. "Brains are metabolically expensive organs to develop and maintain, so looking for a trade-off there seemed obvious." The most interesting implications of the study are for the co-ordinated evolution of brains, behaviour and extravagant sexually selected traits: ornaments such as the peacock's tail and armaments such as antlers. Dr Pitnick said: "The road to sexual success can lie in being clever, in being a dull yet well-armed brute that can fight for paternity, in being spectacularly ornamented, or in providing a rich cocktail of seminal fluids and costly sperm." Yesterday was a concert of Carl Coxx in the Zouk KL (that i already mention several times). Iam not a big fan of techno music, but i have to say that it was a pure BLAST! Hanging on the podium with the buddies (Ines, Oliv, Francois, Ahmed & Filou) for 3 hours, in total trance (no illegal stuff involved!), we even manage to have a hand clap from Mr Coxx when we finally got off! Yeah, classy ! Then, we went from bar to disco to bar, to finally end in a stall at 6 in the morning...Blasting blast. Now im tired... DRING DRING, Yes? Hello? Ah Pierre, no i did not forget your farewell tonight, of couurse not. Am I in shape? Yes of course, Im sure it is going to be coolos! See you there.....

There we go, my half is back to France for Xmas holidays (3 to 4 weeks). I going to spend another Xmas away from (2nd in a row here in Malaysia). Well, i believe it is a trade off between Independance and living far away in a nice country, versus stay close to your parents, brothers, family and friends. So far, as far as i m concerned, the balance had always been on the far-far-away thing, but sometime you just wonder if it is worth it... Subject: Updated Travel Advisory - INDONESIA UPDATED TRAVEL ADVISORY - INDONESIA November 25, 2005 Last week the American and Australian embassies issued new security threat warnings of possible attacks against Westerners in Jakarta. Coming after the October 1st bombings in Bali, it is another reminder that terrorism remains an ever present threat in Indonesia. Clearly, places frequented by foreigners or identified with Western countries, especially restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shopping centers and embassies - which have long been known to be potential targets for attacks by terrorist cells - continue to be at risk, and therefore security awareness remains a priority. In light of the new information available on potential terrorist action, we reassessed the risk to employees travelling to Jakarta on business and reviewed standing security precautions for visitors. We believe it continues to be safe to travel to Jakarta as long as visitors comply with the following procedures, which were adopted earlier this year and remain in effect for all business travel to Indonesia. 1. Only necessary business travel to Indonesia should be undertaken. Necessary business is that which cannot be cancelled or postponed because it meets one of these criteria: * directly supports customers * impacts revenues * exploits new business opportunities 2. Travel must be thoroughly coordinated in advance and approved by Indonesia. Travelers must have a sponsor in Indonesia who knows their flight number and arrival time and is responsible for local arrangements. No one is to arrive unannounced. Travelers will copy XXX, on emails relating to their visit so they can receive updated security information. Before leaving home, travelers are responsible to insure they have the prior approval of Indonesia for entry into the country, and that their admin assistant or manager knows their complete itinerary and contact information in Indonesia. 3. These two hotels have been selected because they are not high profile, "big name" accommodations likely to attract terrorists, are less vulnerable to attack due to their location and physical layout, and provide excellent internal security measures. 5. We stress that neither the potential for terrorist activity in Jakarta nor these security precautions are new. Cultural night (for a start!)

YEp. Cultural ! We went to to see a nice Hip-Hop dance show ORPHEE. (see previous post). The overall experience was excellent! The dancers were very skilled, and the soundtrack was amazing. The show was not to infer sleep as the name could suggest, but just a big smile on my face while my ears and eyes (yes it is back!) were stuffed ! After this, we went to grab a bit at a nice place (restaurant in front of the biggest disco complex of KL). And of course, then we went to a bar called the ZETA which is a bar inside the HILTON. No cover charge and cheap drinks lead us to an orgy of Champagne (happy birthday Edouard) and Vodka (Saint Eristoff!). Burps. As for today (sunday for the two who did not follow), special brunch with BBQ and champagne. My liver is trhilled just with the thinking! See you on the other side. Who said life was not good!

All in the title ! Last week end with N. before she is going back to France. For 4 weeks. Well a little bit of singlehood for a little while ! Program of the week end includes a cultural show called Orphee. It is a hip-hop dance show based on the eponyme novel from Jean Cocteau. Sunday will be ponctuate with a nice brunch at some of our friends (Edouard and Sabine) somewhere around KL. A little visit at thelocal "central market" is on the program too, in order to finish the Xmas gifts. God i hate this one ! Sum of it all, the week end is going to be peaceful.

Oh my, im exhausted. Yes indeed, i just watched one of the semis of the double ATP masters of tennis in Shanghai. It was the bryans from the US versus Santoro-Lhodra from France. Just seeing this little Santoro devil hopping eveywhere on the pitch, making hell the US life and game, im super tired. This guy is clearly incredible. He just plays perfectly in double (single is another story). He waits the appropriate moment to hammer the killing ball and humiliate the other team. Lhodra is just there for some brutal power as well as for some too-rare genius tricks. They are now in final of the ATP master series. Lets wait and see. PS: the US boys were not nice at all. It is a concept (French of course) that every year around the same period, we shall all get drunk on some hard-ass-tough-hangover-tomorrow red wine. Well, why not? It is just that the wine is definitely not good!!

Hey there. Im glad to anounce that my eye is getting better. Well, at least it looks almost normal. No more like a T350 (Terminator for the ignares !). On the vision side, it is still blurry, eventhough i might feel i am actually able to see a little bit better. The weird thing is that with this eye, i see better w/out glasses than with glasses. huh? Anyway, time will heal. On the good side of the world, i watch an incredible movie yesterday. It was called CRASH - Collision in French (thus the title !). The cast is great with Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock (weirdly good!), Matt Dillon (excellent), Thandie Newton (good reconversion after MI-2!) and many others. The movie can be assimilated to shortcuts form R. Altman for the idea eventhough it is strongly different. Directed by Paul Haggis (Million $$ Baby screenwritter), the movie never let you down. Mostly about latent racism, it never give an opinion, but let you have your own. No real story, but a successsion of small paths that collide (crash?) into each other til the final crash. The overall movie is 2 h long, but you ll never find the time that long with characters evolving all along the movie to finally revealed themselves. A True movie. Else, 2 others things worth mentionning: one is another movie that i saw called the station agent. Story of a short person arriving in a super duper small city where everyone is bored to death. Deadspan humor, friendship and laughter are on the menu. A must. Also, on a more musical point of view, the part II of the latest SOAD (System of a Down) opus had been released. Called HYPNOTISED, much awaited, it is worth it. And clearly different from what they are ususallly doing. YEAH rock and roll baby! CYA, Soundtrack: SOAD-Vicinity to Obscenity !

One eyed bob

First, this post is going to be painful. For me. Indeed, to cut it short, i received a squash ball at full speed striaght to my occular globe (copyball Jerome C.! :-). So yes it is painful. And yes reading acomputer screen is painful (typing is ok though - please dont mond the spelling mist.) So yes, i was quietly playing squash with some buddies whne this occured. It was the only way they could beat me. Forfeit. And Forfeit it was. Imagine Mister T hammering as hard as he can a Squash ball with a wooden racket. This fireball (speed had it burnt) then enters in contact with my occular globe. Ouch. The fire has then propagated onto my entire eye, and i went left blind for a while. Til i reach the hospital (via a superspeed car driven by a friend passing by at the right time - He might have regret it after we left 5 liter of sweat on his backseat... Thanks Christian!). Well, my eye was swollen (not that i could see it!). The eye killer went with me to the hopital, where my only concern was to fall asleep in order not to feel the pain. And every hour i had my name called 1- age/weight/problem/country 2- problem? No examination 3- X-rays, in a Stargate Stellar portal kind of thingy! I ve now have a 3D modellisation of my skull! But not my eye. 4- Bone specialist (in case my leg got broken in the process!) 5- Problem identified. Ophtalmologist on the way. Nice guy. Efficient. First real relief of the day! IT WILL NOT BE PERMANENT, just painful and long. Relief i was telling you. 6- Prescription (eyedrop, eyedrop,onguent, cream, and painkiller) 7- Bill. This one was real fast! All this process took approx 5 hours. I never understood why the ER (standing for Emergency Rescue or sth like that) is most likely the slowest place in any hopital!!!! WTF? I Forget to mention that i meet a nice guy n the ER room, that came to us because we were speaking French (he was Moroccan). HE actually slide on his soap while taking a shower, and destroy his complete arm muscle... He was schedule for surgery sometime in the next millenium. So what? No more sport (not healthy) and no more shower (not healthy either !) Lets all stink and get fat ! Anyway, the situation as for today is that im off work for a week (inability to focus - believe writting this now is painful). Cream and eye drop every seconds of the day in order to heal the scratches on my cornea. It is like wearing scratched glasses but with no glasses involved.... And i hope to recover my eagle view sometime next week. Not to mention the noce color of my eye. Well, now iam going to rest my eye for the next century. CYa

Arggh,im currently downloading (bad!) watching the LOST Season II serie. And i have to say that every episode im so frustrated!!!!! When will the screenplayers learn to do non-addictive screenplay? Because if it continues like this, my heart will explode before the end of the show... And im only at the 6th episode....Arghh

Slow. YEs indeed, after having drank much more champagne that i should have yesterday with N. And btw some goose liver too. Raa when parents visits! So im still waiting the gasman (not the one delivering free fart of course - lame !) to deliver a new gas container so i can cook again (after almost 2 weeks of no-gas life). He was suppose to come up at 10am, but it is now 1.00pm, and still no news. Well, it is part of Malaysia. BEing in late. Whatev. So to wait for him (her maybe?) here the type of accoustic food i am eating to watch the time passing by. Foo Foghters (because they are good, from the oldest the th enewest!), Natasha Beddingfield (cause i like her voice, and she had a few punchy songs), The black eyed peas (good lines), My chemical romance (disruptive rock like i love!), Muse (no comment here!), The good charlottes (a few songs are catchy), Gorillaz (fan from the first seconds i listened to them), Maroon 5 (for my gf), Fall Out boy (the new green day, eventhough green day is still super good ), Jack Johnson (sweet voice) and the new album of the Cardigans. I wonder what is up for Sunday!

No i will not talk about the eponyme horror movie. I m just mentionning my 4th visit to my beloved dentist. Indeed, im stiil treat this stupid tooth ach. Actually, i have started a root canal treatment, an it goes very well, apart from the fact that i have to go to the dentist very regulary for 2 hours session. Root canal treatment in front of TV or in bed does not exist yet? raaaaaaa. Anyway, the (bad) guy is very skilled, ad im almost not scared anymore. for now. As a general remark, i will say that medical treatment in Malaysia are more than efficient. My experience as well as friends of mine experience (knee operation and so on) tells me that you can truly rely on it. And also, Penang (North West of Peninsular Malaysia) is internationnaly well known for the boob/lips job for the filthy rich. **PACKAGE: 15 days / 14 nights in a high standing ho(spital)tel with permanent room service. Yours boobs and lips will also get bgger. Eventually** I love this country!

DATE: Thursday to Tuesday WHERE: Bangkok and surroundings + Ayuthayah (ancient Siam/Thailand capital) WHO?: Nathalie, Phillippe, Alex, Aurelie, Sandrine, Minh, Jerome, David, PimSai and myself WHAT?: Here comes the real challenge... PICS: there DAY 1:[Thursday]Well, we arrived in BKK pretty knacked from the travel, but still managed to visit the area where we stayed, called Khao San road. Some will scream that this place is for Backpackers only and that it is not the real thailand and bla bla. Well, indeed, this place is less local than the others, but totally out of control. Drinking and drugging comes as a natural flavor of this place. Without mentionning the overall weirdness of the local population. Whatever, we were bathing into this atmosphere with a total pleasure. Then on the forst night we decided that we will rock our bodies... Goodness.... This party (neatly ended around 2am as the bar closed) weighted on our overall capacity til the end of our stay. Please write in oyour little black book that beers + cocktails + 2 bottle of smirnoff with 3 to 4 people is not a good idea, especially when the previous night was only 3 hours long... Well end of day 1!

DAY 2:[Friday] Woke up with a killing hangover that will take the whole day to eradicate. Bad shape. So we went visiting the nearby royal palace as well as Wat Pho that i already visited by night the last time i went to BKK (hi there Tristan!).Superb architecture, nice sights and sweaty/smelly clothes. It was an enjoyable and incredibly hot day, an it was the nice time for good pics ! We had a quick and great bite in a street food and enjoyed peacefully our evening in BKK...

DAY 3: [Saturday]CHATUCHAK Market. Imagine a market the size of 10 football pitch. a place where you bargain as if your life depended on it. A place were everything is cheaper than everywhere else. A place were fakes are as good as real ones, but only cheaper. A place where the temperature is like summer in hell. A place where you fit more people than it is physically possible. Day ended around 4 pm (being there since 10am). Beer, wine, food sleep. At night we organised ourself to go and eat in a posh (read expensive) restaurant called the Sirocco. The particularity of this joint is that it is located at the 64th floor of the State Tower, thus giving an incredible view over BKK. The bad thing was that it was moreless raining so forget about dinning/dinking outside. But we manage to have a sit fo a little while outside when the rain stopped, thus allowing us to enjoy the fantastic panorama! When i first came to BKK, i went to the Vertigo which is a bar following the same principle (56th floor of the Banyan Tree restaurant). We ended the night in a nice live music restaurant called Ad Makers. Cheap and classic food, with a good ambience. Good night !

DAY 4: [Sunday] Museum day with the national museum as well as the national gallery, both of them hosted in magnificent houses. They much more look like Ali-baba's cavern than organised westernised museum, but it was a great experience. Then we quietly took a Tuk Tuk (one of the favorite ride in BKK - a three wheeled motorbike with a trailer skillfully driven by fearless drivers) to go down to the JIM THOMPSON house. My my the house is geat, located on the side of a klong (small river going through BKK) and seems lost in the middle of the garden jungle. Everything is decorated with class and taste. But as far as im concerned the big piece is the garden, where fountains, statues, bassin, trees, plants and all kind of vegetal life are mixed together.... Simply great. In order to fully appreciate the garden, a mounssoun rain started as we plannned to take a ride back. here we are stuck in a middle of a pseudo jungle, sitted under a shelter where an English waiter ask you what kind of tea you wanna drink !

We then meet up with Alex and Aurelie in a super trendy bar (Bed Supper Club) where you basically sit/lie in a giant bed with pillows all around while a superb DJ rocks the floor! It is always nice to mention that the bar is actually some kind of flying saucers landed on for metallic pillar at the end of Soi 11 in BKK !!! Brilliant !

DAY 5: [Monday]. Direction Ayuthayah, the ancient capital of Siam (Thailand). Took a train from BKK for an hour and a half, to discover the old ruins (some older than other !) of the former kingdom of Siam. Basically, temples were a mix of Khmer (Cambodia) and Birman (Myanmar) architecture. We rent bikes to travel around the city, but it was without counting on the magnificent storm we had to go through! BAck to BKK via a crappy train. Day in two words: Splendid and KNacked !

Day 6: [Tuesday] Shopping. Darn ! Two big thai chair (heavy im telling you) wood carving, nice scuplture, wall hanging and so much more (clothes not mentionned). Remember one thing, if you go to Thailand and wanna bargain sth, first divide the price by two, minus 20% and then start bargaining. That is the way it work there (and around South East asia anyway !). One shall note that it has been raining the whole bloody day, thus the lack of activity ! And it wasnt light rain, but more sth like god goinhg to the toilet after 5 or 6 pint of Danish Lager !!! Whououou. I will just add that i saw this wonderful Firerescue truck. Im back to kindergarten again!

Overall and to make it quick. IT WAS GREAT !!!!!!!! I guess i ll be back there very soon. Did i mentionned that i was going to some south-west thai island (Koh PHI-PHI) for new year eve? GNIARK ~!!!!

Open letter to CNN (Asia)

Well, i guess everyone has heard about the little rioting we have in France... It was headline on CNN... On that subject i am strongly showing and mentionning my disapprovement on this stupid little batard channel which found a way of interviewing the most inappropriate politic man in France on this topic... to name it, Mr Bruno Gollnish **fuckin ass**. Indeed, this guy is/was part of the french national front which ie qualified of hard right movement **rascist, immigrant go home, white power.. and all that embedded in a nice political dicsussion...** What on earth you american media you want to show this face of France? I know that when we talkin' US these days, GW pops up, but for god sake, it was totally inappropriate to have this guy talking on a worldwide network.... And moreover this guy was kind of disavoed some time ago by is own people. And as usual, he only criticized the role of the governement in place (not that i am a fan) on the actual events, but when the CNN presenter asked him litterally "what would you do?'' to stop those riots, he just went on with some nonsense talk on how to stop immigration, send back people that wear scarf and that have 2 or more wives, without forgetting the nice "work for white french".... so red card for him (not a surprised) and for CNN for allowing such speech in a international broadcast level...
